Can you reconfirm your email address for further discussion on airlines, lodging locations, best time to visit, etc…for a SA trip? Of note, I watched Ricky interviewing his parents. My wife and I are probably about the age of your parents. Being devoted Christians (not necessarily missionaries), we would be interested in finding a church of Christ congregation to visit if we get a chance to visit Johannesburg. V/r

American cities have a distinct look South African cities don't have. Vibes don't even give off Joburg. Maybe a slow day? Really cool city though. Yes I see the melrose arch comparisons. But I still understand why you guys say Johannesburg is more comparable overall to Atlanta. People just used NY as a comparison because both cities are the biggest and richest cities in each respective country.

The idea of people providing conveniences is not really about South Africans wanting to be served at all. We have a very large black population where unemployment is a very big problem. We support anybody who works, to help them - even someone who invents a job. It is taken in good spirit and the person is supported.

You really don't have to tip gas attendants, we never do! and you really don't have to tip the car guards every time. We don't drive around with a bag of coins. We tip to parking attendants but when we run out of coins, we tell the next one, oh I'm very sorry, I've used all my small change today. And they really take it very well.

You'll stop checking the eggs. It's very rare for us to find eggs that are not 100% in our regular supermarkets.
